A Week of Activity

First photo - After our boat tour
Second photo - In The Kings Garden, one week later. The blossoms are gone; pink has turned to green.
As you can see, we are experiencing fabulous, unseasonably warm weather!

Since the last post, we have experienced so much. It was a long weekend with some families taking excursions and some group activities as well. As a group, we have seen the eve of May 1st bonfires, visited the amusement park and toured Stockholm on a boat. It is hard to believe that we have less than a week left on this adventure.

Tonight we will take a Ghost Walk tour around Gamlastan, the old town. Tomorrow we plan to tour Stockholm Castle and watch the changing of the guard. Thursday includes a trip to Skansen, a wild animal park, and Junibacken, a display of Astrid Lindgren's (author of Pippi Longstocking) work and life. We will finish out the week with a trip to the archipelago for Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday night we say farewell at a party and leave early Monday morning. I am grateful for all the Swedish hospitality and this fabulous experience.

Hello to all of you at home.

On our way to the Natural History Museum - Tuesday

You Would be Proud of our Presentations

The welcome party was tonight. The smorgasbord of pickled herring, salmon, Swedish meatballs, and much more typical Swedish fare was enjoy by a group of more than 50 (maybe 70-80). Following dinner we presented and the kids were outstanding. They shared pertinent, entertaining, and insightful information about themselves and our culture. Every person's style showed personality and was a real performance. All the parents should be very proud - I know I am!

Tomorrow we are off to the Natural History Museum with Tina, Viking's mom as our coordinator. I will try to post pictures tomorrow so keep checking and responding.

Day One - Touring Stockholm

After poking around Stockholm on our own, we visited the Vasa Museum and toured Stockholm with Marie. It was a beautiful day with the crab apple trees in bloom in The King's Garden.
